Another tragedy strikes as Christopher “Big Black” Boykin died Tuesday (May 8), TMZ reports. Although the cause of death is unknown, several sources are speculating that the reality television star passed away after suffering a heart attack. He was 45 years old and is survived by his 9-year-old daughter.
Big Black starred alongside pro-skateboarder Rob Dyrdek on the MTV show Rob & Big where they’d go on various adventures. The two had a falling out after the series came to an abrupt end in its third season. In an interview, Dyrdek suggested it was Big Black’s sudden transition from security guard to a famous reality television personality that contributed to the rift. Fortunately, the longtime friends reconnected before his passing.
Dyrdek posted an emotional tribute to Instagram about Big Black, who he calls his “brother.”
An 11-year-old girl has died after falling in the water on a ride at Drayton Manor theme park in Tamworth.
The girl, who was on a school trip, was airlifted to hospital after emergency services were called to the Splash Canyon ride at around 2.20pm on Tuesday afternoon.
Director of the theme park George Bryan said: “It is with great sadness we have to report that a young girl has passed away at Birmingham Children’s Hospital following an incident on one of our rides this afternoon.
“We are all truly shocked and devastated and our thoughts are with her family and friends at this tremendously difficult time.”
The park added it would remain closed on Wednesday 10 May as a mark of respect to the girl’s family.
Superintendent Carl Ratcliffe, of Staffordshire Police, said the girl’s family, who live in Leicester, were being supported by specially-trained officers.
The ride was closed following the incident which has now been passed on to the Health and Safety Executive (HSE).
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “On arrival, crews discovered a girl with serious injuries who had been rescued from the water by park staff.
“Ambulance staff administered advanced life support before she was flown to Birmingham Children’s Hospital with the doctor continuing treatment en-route.
“Unfortunately, shortly after arrival at hospital the girl passed away.”
The family have requested that their wishes are respected at this difficult time.
The theme park’s website states the ride, which opened in 1993, features up to 21 boats, each with up to six people in.
It is open to anyone at least 0.9m (3ft) tall, although those under 1.1m must be accompanied by an adult.
The website promises “a wild ride” with “fast-flowing rapids”.
In a statement, the victim’s school, Jameah Girls Academy, assured parents “the safety and well-being of all our pupils is a priority”.
It added support was being provided to pupils and staff following the tragedy.
It seems like just yesterday Miley Cyrus was collaborating with Juicy J and getting on remixes with French Montana. Well, don’t expect those days to return. In a recent interview with Billboard, the 24-year-old singer said she was distancing herself from hip-hop—or, at least, the type she feels oversexualizes women.
Answering a question about singer Melanie Safka’s influence on her music, Miley eventually ventured off into the reasons why she’s put some distance between herself and the genre she occasionally dabbled in a few years ago. Like just about everyone else, though, she’s a fan of that new K. Dot.
“But I also love that new Kendrick [Lamar] song [“Humble”]: ‘Show me somethin’ natural like ass with some stretch marks,’” she explained. “I love that because it’s not ‘Come sit on my dick, suck on my cock.’ I can’t listen to that anymore. That’s what pushed me out of the hip-hop scene a little. It was too much ‘Lamborghini, got my Rolex, got a girl on my cock’—I am so not that.”
After discussing the “political” vibe of her forthcoming new album, Miley eventually returned to hip-hop, focusing specifically on the notion that she was ever appropriating Black culture.
“It’s mind-boggling to me that there was even a controversy around me having black dancers. That became a thing, where people said I was taking advantage of Black culture, and with Mike [WiLL Made-It]—what the fuck? That wasn’t true. Those were the dancers I liked!” Miley explained.
Miley said she took criticism from music industry figures when she said she wanted to work with Pharrell Williams, whom she collabed with on the 2014 track “Come Get It Bae.”
“When I met Pharrell [Williams], before ‘Blurred Lines,’ before ‘Happy,’ people wouldn’t take meetings with me because they said, ‘He hasn’t had a hit in 10 years.’ They wanted to put me with the Dr. Luke’s of the world, the Max Martin’s, and put me through the fucking assembly line, and I said, ‘No. This is someone who actually cares about me. This is someone I feel safe with.’ I got completely shut out, and I had to just trust myself. What feels right to me feels right to my fans, because they know some dude in a suit didn’t tell me to do it.”
It’s unclear how people will take Miley distancing herself from certain types of hip-hop, but there’s a good chance it sparks up the conversation about the singer’s past relationship with the genre people guard so fiercely.
As a parent, Its your obligation to keep your children safe, but just how safe are they within your four walls?
Modern technology has created a new way for predators to infiltrate you home without physically breaking in. This article highlights the importance of checking your child’s phone as a predator could be a few clicks away from taking your child.
A Florida mother posted SnapChat messages that her 10 year old daughter received from a man suspected of being a predator. He was gradually trying to groom her into sending nude pictures of herself.
At first the girl thought he was asking for selfies, but the man replied saying: ‘I really want some other kinds of pics. Like you’ll be in it…but not just your face.’
He gave his name as Daniel Foreal, but it is not known if this is his real name and could not be independently verified.
She told him that she was just 10 and that she couldn’t do such a thing but he said ‘it will be our secret.’
The mother found out so she posed as her daughter to message the man.
She discovered that the man had originally contacted her daughter on Live.Me, a video platform, after he approached her asking her to do a dare and saying they were ‘naughty’.
I was horrified and I know my daughter will not have been the only one he has targeted,’ she said.
‘My daughter is really mature for her age and she knows to tell me if someone has contacted her.
‘She has Facebook and other social media, because all her friends do and they play games together. We make sure that it is all on lockdown and if someone adds her, she tells me.
‘When I saw her messages I felt sick. One person had sent her a picture of his penis. Another person she was talking to said he was a 13-year-old and sent a picture he found on Google. He asked to see her tummy but she is too clever and did not fall for that.
‘I made this public to show what these people say to young girls and to make sure that “Daniel” does not do this to anyone else’s child. I check my daughter’s social media but some parents might not know who their child is speaking to.’
With the mother in charge of the phone, she continued messaging to see what he wanted her 10-year-old girl to do.
He says: ‘It’s gana be fun. Like I’m gana tell you exactly what I want to see and then you show me (sic).’
The man then tells her ‘I want you to lift up your shirt and bra and take a picture’, before promising not to tell anyone.
The mother replied: ‘I don’t have a bra. They’re for older girls’ and he responded by saying ‘Then just lift up your shirt and take a pic.’
She posted screenshots from the conversation as well as a social media profile of the man and a photo he sent her.
The post read: ‘So this dirty bastard thinks it is OK to message young girls asking for dirty pictures! NOT ON MY F**kIN WATCH! wrong momma to f**k with… sent a message to alllllll your friends list, the local sheriff in Florida, added to the Florida selling groups! I hope you get hung, drawn & f**kin quarted!
‘Anybody wishing to message or add on Snapchat go right ahead, please share… I know he is in Florida but horrible dirty scum bag!
‘BTW this is me messaging him pretending to be my girl.’
She says she has reported it to the man’s local sheriff in Florida and made a report to Child Exploitation & Online Protection centre.
She also linked to a Facebook profile of a man called Daniel Foreal but the account now appears to have been deactivated.

The Democratic presidential candidate said today (October 26) in an interview with The Breakfast Club she was “thrilled” at having Hov’s support and that of so many different people.
Election Day is November 8 where Clinton faces off against Republican hopeful Donald Trump.
(This article was first published October 24, 2016 and is as follows.)
Jay Z is scheduled to perform a concert in Cleveland, Ohio in support of Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton, which is set to happen sometime before the November 8 election day, according to Buzzfeed.
The goal of the event is reportedly to curry the support of young black voters in a state where President Barack Obama squeezed out Democratic victories in 2008 and 2012 after Republican wins in 2000 and 2004. In this election, Clinton is running against GOP candidate Donald Trump. No president has ever won an election without scoring the swing state of Ohio.
Hov has a history of supporting the Democratic party. In 2012, the Hip Hop mogul and Bruce Springsteen headlined a similar concert in Columbus alongside President Obama the night before his reelection.
British researchers are hoping to shed new light on the very early stages of Alzheimer’s disease, with the help of hundreds of volunteers.
Using techniques including wearable technology, they are looking for what are known as biomarkers – the very early physical signs of the disease.
These can be spotted long before more obvious symptoms emerge.
They hope it will open up new avenues for tackling Alzheimer’s before the brain suffers serious damage.
Nearly 47 million people worldwide were estimated to be living with dementia in 2015.
The research, funded by the National Institute for Health Research and the Medical Research Council, is being aided by around 250 volunteers, including former university academic Peter Lindon.
He has been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease and hopes his involvement in this latest research project may answer some troubling questions.
“The importance is hard to overestimate because the question of one’s short-term memory deteriorating has many consequences,” he says.
“The major concern one is principally bothered about is how much time you’ve got when you’re likely to be competent, until the time that you are no longer competent.”
Peter has undergone a whole range of tests, mental and physical, to help researchers identify the biomarkers for Alzheimer’s with early diagnosis possibly the best hope of finding an effective treatment.
Researcher Jennifer Lawson, from Oxford University, says: “Over the last decade or more, 99% of clinical trials into treatments for Alzheimer’s disease have failed.
“We think the reason for that is we are simply trying these in people far too late.
“By the time someone comes to their GP and they think they might have some memory problems and they get a diagnosis of Alzheimer’s, it’s likely the brain has been under attack from this illness for 10 or even 20 years before.”
In a highly-equipped laboratory in Newcastle University’s Clinical Ageing Research Unit, another volunteer, Trish Jones, has undergone an examination of how she walks, known as a “gait test”.
