With five hundred dishes, over a thousand guests, and a multi-million dollar budget, the son of Asia’s wealthiest individual has apparently marked his upcoming wedding in grand style.

Anant Ambani and his future wife Radhika Merchant hosted a lavish three-day event where Bollywood celebrities mingled with wealthy tech moguls, sports icons, and even Ivanka Trump.

The event has caught the attention of audiences in India and beyond, eagerly absorbing all the details coming from the celebration hosted by his father Mukesh Ambani in Jamnagar, Gujarat, during the weekend.

The local airport was temporarily granted international status due to the influx of visitors from across the country and the world. The airport authorities reported that almost 130 flights had landed for the occasion, bringing notable figures such as Bill Gates and Mark Zuckerberg to the area.

Many of the attendees resided in luxurious “glamping” tents close to the location, providing an extravagant experience with a wide selection of over 500 dishes prepared by numerous international chefs.

Additionally, there were hair and makeup artists, laundry services, and stylists available to assist guests in getting ready for the themed events, which were meticulously planned in a nine-page schedule.

Rihanna’s debut performance in India was a major event, with rumours swirling about her hefty paycheck of around $7m (£5.5m). The BBC was unable to verify this figure on its own.

Some of the most popular film stars in India also performed to her popular songs on stage.

Attendees were given the opportunity to tour Anant Ambani’s personal initiative – a massive shelter spanning 3,000 acres and housing numerous animals.

It wasn’t just about the celebration, though. Mukesh Ambani, the head of Reliance Industries, with an estimated net worth of $115bn, according to Forbes, has also had 14 temples constructed in the city, as per local reports.

Everyone is expected to focus on the upcoming wedding set to take place in Mumbai in July.
