Strictly Come Dancing’s Robin Windsor Passes Away at age of 44

Robin Windsor, a former professional on Strictly Come Dancing, passed away at the age of 44.

He made appearances on the BBC One show from 2010 to 2013, teaming up with Patsy Kensit, Anita Dobson, Lisa Riley, and Deborah Meaden.

Sisco Entertainment announced Windsor’s passing on Tuesday, stating that he will be greatly missed.

Windsor was recently featured in Come What May, a Moulin Rouge tribute show.

Susanna Reid, the presenter of Good Morning Britain, was visibly moved as she shared the news of Windsor’s passing with viewers during Tuesday morning’s show.

“He was an exceptional dancer, very strong, incredibly creative, and extremely passionate about dancing,” she expressed. “I simply loved him, his personality was truly amazing, there was something truly unique about him.”

Windsor and Reid danced together on a Children in Need special episode of Strictly Come Dancing. In the 2015 Christmas special, he was also teamed up with Great British Bake Off host Alison Hammond.

Craig Revel Horwood praised Windsor as one of the most kind, gentle, honest, funny, and caring individuals he has ever known and worked with.

He will always be remembered. I sympathise with all his family and friends.

Actress Lisa Riley, who was paired with Windsor in 2012, shared: “My Bestie, My Robin, My Angel… now our forever Angel, who is loved, will always be loved, forever in my heart.

“I adore you, radiate your stunning, electrifying energy from above.”

Windsor’s passing was announced in a statement by Sisco Entertainment, expressing his remarkable talent in conveying emotion through movement that mesmerised audiences.

His infectious laughter and limitless kindness were truly remarkable. His friendship was a treasured blessing for everyone fortunate enough to have crossed paths with him. Robin, your presence will be greatly remembered.

Former Strictly professional James Jordan expressed his admiration for the man he worked with for many years on the show, sharing his fond memories. He was always very compassionate and enjoyable to be with.

“Everyone who crossed paths with him admired him, from his famous collaborators to his coworkers. You will be missed, my old friend.

Burn, a ballroom dance company The Floor announced the departure of one of its original members.

“He danced with us for 20 years, including Broadway, the West End and all our crazy adventures around the world,” they shared in a statement on social media. His absence deeply impacts us emotionally.

Windsor hails from Ipswich, Suffolk, and started dancing at the young age of three after being signed up for classes by his parents in Ipswich, as stated on his website.

At the age of 15, he relocated to London to follow his passion for dancing. He later competed in various championships, representing England at both national and global levels.

Aside from Strictly, Windsor also made appearances on Dancing with the Stars Australia and So You Think You Can Dance in Holland.

In 2014, he had to withdraw from Strictly Come Dancing due to persistent back issues resulting from a slipped disc.

The following year, Windsor was paired with Anita Dobson – who remained in the competition for nine weeks

Windsor was a strong supporter of mental health and collaborated closely with the Sane Charity.

Karen Hauer expressed deep sadness, calling Robin a wonderful person.

Her co-star Graziano Di Prima expressed disbelief, while Neil Jones shared that every moment spent with Robin was a joy due to his big heart.
