Another tragedy strikes as Christopher “Big Black” Boykin died Tuesday (May 8), TMZ reports. Although the cause of death is unknown, several sources are speculating that the reality television star passed away after suffering a heart attack. He was 45 years old and is survived by his 9-year-old daughter.
Big Black starred alongside pro-skateboarder Rob Dyrdek on the MTV show Rob & Big where they’d go on various adventures. The two had a falling out after the series came to an abrupt end in its third season. In an interview, Dyrdek suggested it was Big Black’s sudden transition from security guard to a famous reality television personality that contributed to the rift. Fortunately, the longtime friends reconnected before his passing.
Dyrdek posted an emotional tribute to Instagram about Big Black, who he calls his “brother.”
It seems like just yesterday Miley Cyrus was collaborating with Juicy J and getting on remixes with French Montana. Well, don’t expect those days to return. In a recent interview with Billboard, the 24-year-old singer said she was distancing herself from hip-hop—or, at least, the type she feels oversexualizes women.
Answering a question about singer Melanie Safka’s influence on her music, Miley eventually ventured off into the reasons why she’s put some distance between herself and the genre she occasionally dabbled in a few years ago. Like just about everyone else, though, she’s a fan of that new K. Dot.
“But I also love that new Kendrick [Lamar] song [“Humble”]: ‘Show me somethin’ natural like ass with some stretch marks,’” she explained. “I love that because it’s not ‘Come sit on my dick, suck on my cock.’ I can’t listen to that anymore. That’s what pushed me out of the hip-hop scene a little. It was too much ‘Lamborghini, got my Rolex, got a girl on my cock’—I am so not that.”
After discussing the “political” vibe of her forthcoming new album, Miley eventually returned to hip-hop, focusing specifically on the notion that she was ever appropriating Black culture.
“It’s mind-boggling to me that there was even a controversy around me having black dancers. That became a thing, where people said I was taking advantage of Black culture, and with Mike [WiLL Made-It]—what the fuck? That wasn’t true. Those were the dancers I liked!” Miley explained.
Miley said she took criticism from music industry figures when she said she wanted to work with Pharrell Williams, whom she collabed with on the 2014 track “Come Get It Bae.”
“When I met Pharrell [Williams], before ‘Blurred Lines,’ before ‘Happy,’ people wouldn’t take meetings with me because they said, ‘He hasn’t had a hit in 10 years.’ They wanted to put me with the Dr. Luke’s of the world, the Max Martin’s, and put me through the fucking assembly line, and I said, ‘No. This is someone who actually cares about me. This is someone I feel safe with.’ I got completely shut out, and I had to just trust myself. What feels right to me feels right to my fans, because they know some dude in a suit didn’t tell me to do it.”
It’s unclear how people will take Miley distancing herself from certain types of hip-hop, but there’s a good chance it sparks up the conversation about the singer’s past relationship with the genre people guard so fiercely.
As a parent, Its your obligation to keep your children safe, but just how safe are they within your four walls?
Modern technology has created a new way for predators to infiltrate you home without physically breaking in. This article highlights the importance of checking your child’s phone as a predator could be a few clicks away from taking your child.
A Florida mother posted SnapChat messages that her 10 year old daughter received from a man suspected of being a predator. He was gradually trying to groom her into sending nude pictures of herself.
At first the girl thought he was asking for selfies, but the man replied saying: ‘I really want some other kinds of pics. Like you’ll be in it…but not just your face.’
He gave his name as Daniel Foreal, but it is not known if this is his real name and could not be independently verified.
She told him that she was just 10 and that she couldn’t do such a thing but he said ‘it will be our secret.’
The mother found out so she posed as her daughter to message the man.
She discovered that the man had originally contacted her daughter on Live.Me, a video platform, after he approached her asking her to do a dare and saying they were ‘naughty’.
I was horrified and I know my daughter will not have been the only one he has targeted,’ she said.
‘My daughter is really mature for her age and she knows to tell me if someone has contacted her.
‘She has Facebook and other social media, because all her friends do and they play games together. We make sure that it is all on lockdown and if someone adds her, she tells me.
‘When I saw her messages I felt sick. One person had sent her a picture of his penis. Another person she was talking to said he was a 13-year-old and sent a picture he found on Google. He asked to see her tummy but she is too clever and did not fall for that.
‘I made this public to show what these people say to young girls and to make sure that “Daniel” does not do this to anyone else’s child. I check my daughter’s social media but some parents might not know who their child is speaking to.’
With the mother in charge of the phone, she continued messaging to see what he wanted her 10-year-old girl to do.
He says: ‘It’s gana be fun. Like I’m gana tell you exactly what I want to see and then you show me (sic).’
The man then tells her ‘I want you to lift up your shirt and bra and take a picture’, before promising not to tell anyone.
The mother replied: ‘I don’t have a bra. They’re for older girls’ and he responded by saying ‘Then just lift up your shirt and take a pic.’
She posted screenshots from the conversation as well as a social media profile of the man and a photo he sent her.
The post read: ‘So this dirty bastard thinks it is OK to message young girls asking for dirty pictures! NOT ON MY F**kIN WATCH! wrong momma to f**k with… sent a message to alllllll your friends list, the local sheriff in Florida, added to the Florida selling groups! I hope you get hung, drawn & f**kin quarted!
‘Anybody wishing to message or add on Snapchat go right ahead, please share… I know he is in Florida but horrible dirty scum bag!
‘BTW this is me messaging him pretending to be my girl.’
She says she has reported it to the man’s local sheriff in Florida and made a report to Child Exploitation & Online Protection centre.
She also linked to a Facebook profile of a man called Daniel Foreal but the account now appears to have been deactivated.
Beyonce has taken to twitter to announce that her and Hip Hop Mogul Husband Jay Z are expecting twins, with the caption: “have been blessed two times over”.”We are incredibly grateful that our family will be growing by two,” the pair wrote, and “we thank you for your well wishes”.
Rumours circulated a few years ago that Beyonce wasn’t the biological mother of the couples first child Blue Ivy, and that a surrogate mother was used. The proud 2nd-time-mother-to-be, posted a picture of her wearing a veil and proudly stroking her belly with the caption:
“have been blessed two times over”.”We are incredibly grateful that our family will be growing by two,” the pair wrote, and “we thank you for your well wishes”
The post, signed “The Carters”, has a photo of Beyonce with a baby bump, wearing lingerie and a veil.
But that is not the only thing that the Carters are celebrating this year. The Queen bee has been nominated in nine categories for the 2017 Grammy Awards, extending her lead as the most-nominated woman in Grammys history.
The star, 35, is due to headline the Coachella music festival in southern California in April.
The announcement gave no indication of the babies’ due date.
In 2011, Beyonce revealed her pregnancy to fans during the MTV Awards.
She opened her performance of Love On Top by announcing: “I want you to feel the love that’s growing inside of me.”
During the closing bars of the song, she opened her jacket to reveal her baby bump. The camera then cut to Jay Z, who was being congratulated by Kanye West.
Blue Ivy went on to inspire a song on Beyonce’s self-titled album, and appeared several times in last year’s Lemonade.
The Grammys are quite a source of controversy for Hip Hop, but this year, two of the biggest artists won’t even be in attendance at the show. According to TMZ, Kanye West and Drake are not coming to the awards ceremony on February 12.
Boris Johnson is under pressure to clarify whether dual-nationality Britons can travel to the US during Donald Trump’s travel ban.
The Foreign Secretary has insisted that Britons with dual citizenship would still be free to travel to the US – even if they were born in one of seven majority Muslim countries on Mr Trump’s blacklist.
Mr Johnson’s clarification followed urgent talks with the US President’s senior adviser and son-in-law Jared Kushner on Sunday to discuss the position of Britons, such as Olympian Sir Mo Farah.
However, advice on the US embassy in the UK website on Monday morning said there would be a 90-day travel ban to the US for those from the seven countries: Iran, Iraq, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria and Yemen.
And the notice said this included those with dual nationality.
It warned: “If you are a national, or dual national, of one of these countries (the seven majority Muslim countries), please do not schedule a visa appointment or pay any visa fees at this time.
“If you already have an appointment scheduled, please DO NOT ATTEND your appointment as we will not be able to proceed with your visa interview.”
The Prime Minister’s spokesman said he had not seen the statement on the website.
Former Labour leader Ed Miliband and Conservative MP Nadhim Zahawi, who was born in Iraq, have joined forces to call for an emergency debate in Parliament on the travel ban.
It comes as more than one million people signed an online petitioncalling for Mr Trump’s upcoming state visit to the UK to be blocked.
But Downing Street has insisted Mr Trump’s state visit will go ahead.
Her spokesman said Mrs May was “very happy” to extend the invitation to Mr Trump and added “we look forward to hosting the President later this year”.
Protests over the travel ban have also been planned in the UK for Monday evening. They are scheduled for 6pm in London, Manchester, Bristol, Brighton, Liverpool, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Cardiff and Swansea.
Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn said the ban was “outrageous, illegal and immoral” and that “we should stand up for the values that we believe in”.
He said he would be at the protests if he can but would definitely be sending a member of his team to the London protest.
Welsh First Minister Carwyn Jones has spelled out his opposition to a state visit by Mr Trump with the Prime Minister during talks in Cardiff.
A spokesman for the Welsh Government said: “The First Minister raised serious concerns about how the recent US immigration order was handled by the UK Government, and his belief that a state visit would be difficult in the current circumstance.”
