VIEWERS of the dramatic re-enactment of the murder of Damilola Taylor were left devastated on Monday night – after they watched his killers walk free.

Damilola, Out Loved Boy, left millions in tears as they witnessed the reconstruction of the murdered ten-year-old, who was stabbed with a broken bottle in Peckham sixteen years ago.

The youngster had only just moved over to London from Nigeria and was weeks away from celebrating his eleventh birthday.

Since the murder, Damilola’s parents fought to get justice for their ill-fated son, which culminated at an Old Bailey trial two years later.

However, of the four boys who were put on trial for the killing, two of which were 16-year-old brothers, none were charged with the murder.

The ruling was made after two of the boys were found not guilty and the other two were acquitted when it was ruled that a 14-year-old girl, who was the prosecution’s key witness to the crime, was unreliable.

Following the murder trial, there were two more trials over the case when a second jury couldn’t decide to convict the group on manslaughter.

Eventually, Ricky and Danny Preddie, the two brothers in the case, were sentenced to eight years in youth custody.

They were released in 2010 and 2011 respectively.

Tonight, as the heartbreaking scenes aired, viewers swarmed to Twitter to share their devastation as the four accused walked free.

The Price Of Bitcoin Has Fallen More Than 10%, After Bitfinex Hack. £49M Worth Of Bitcoin Stolen

#WeGotYourBack #WeGotItCovered #BreakingNews #BBCNews #HongKong Economy #HongKongDigitalCurrencyExchange #BitfixenHack  #Bitcoin #49M

The price of bitcoin has fallen more than 10% after the Hong Kong-based digital currency exchange Bitfinex said it had suffered a major hack.

The security breach led to the possible theft of bitcoin worth $65m (£49m).

Bitfinex told the Reuters news agency on Wednesday that nearly 120,000 bitcoin were stolen from its exchange platform.

All transactions on the virtual exchange have been suspended while the security breach is investigated.

In a statement on its website, Bitfinex said that it was “deeply concerned about the issue and we are committing every resource to try to resolve it”.

The hack is one of the biggest thefts in bitcoin’s history and is being treated as a “major deal” by many in the virtual currency community.

“Unfortunately, we continue to have vulnerabilities in the form of exchanges and wallets,” former Singapore-based bitcoin broker David Moskowitz told the BBC.

“The vulnerabilities almost always occur on the exchange or wallet side and this is an area that continues to need improvement and more secure protocols, no different than when a bank gets robbed.”

Securing bitcoin trading platforms has been a key challenge, with hacking and thefts seen as the biggest threats.

In 2014, the Tokyo-based Mt Gox trading exchange declared bankruptcy when hundreds of millions of dollars in bitcoins vanished or were stolen.

But Mr Moskowitz stressed that in spite of the latest alleged theft “the core protocol is extremely robust and has not been hacked”.

He said while there would most likely be a price correction in bitcoin, he remained confident that it would continue to be an appealing alternative asset.

BREAKING NEWS – Nice Terror Attack On The Promenade Des Anglais, Has Claimed 84 Lives And Left 18 In Critical Condition

#WeGotYourBack #WeGotItCover #BreakingNews #France #Nice #PromenadeDesAnglais #84Dead #18InCriticalCondition #PresidentFrançoisHollande #YoutubeVideo

At least 84 people have been killed and dozens injured after a truck careered along Nice’s packed waterfront, ploughing into hundreds of people.

Youtube Video: Published on Jul 14, 2016 Nice attack: French President François Hollande addresses nation on terror attack

French President Francois Hollande has said several children are among the dead after what he described as a monstrous “terrorist” act.

Video footage shows police trying to stop the lorry before it picks up speed, slamming into revellers gathered along the city’s famous waterside Promenade des Anglais for a Bastille Day fireworks display.

The driver zig-zagged along the promenade for some two kilometres (1.3 miles), mowing people down along the way, according to Nice prosecutor Jean-Michel Pretre.

Several officials say he then emerged from the vehicle and started shooting, sending hundreds of panic-stricken men, women and children running in terror.

“We almost died. It was like hallucinating… (the lorry) zig-zagged,” an eyewitness told i-Tele.

“You had no idea where it was going. My wife… a metre away … she was dead.

“The lorry ripped through everything. Poles, trees, we have never seen anything like it in our lives. Some people were hanging on the door trying to stop it.”

Nice-Matin journalist Damien Allemand, who was at the waterside, said the fireworks display had finished and the crowd had got up to leave when they heard a noise and cries.

“A fraction of a second later, an enormous white truck came along at a crazy speed, turning the wheel to mow down the maximum number of people,” he said.

“I saw bodies flying like bowling pins along its route. Heard noises, cries that I will never forget.”

Graphic footage from the scene shows an endless succession of bodies left strewn along the city’s landmark promenade in the lorry’s wake.

Screams and cries can be heard as dazed witnesses lean over the bodies, looking for survivors.

Items of clothing and shoes are scattered across the blood-stained pavement.

French officials say the driver was shot dead by police at the scene, with images showing the windscreen of the 25-tonne lorry riddled with bullet holes.

Several weapons, guns and grenades were found inside the vehicle, Christian Estrosi, president of the region, has confirmed.

There has been no claim of responsibility, however, a police source has identified the attacker as a 31-year-old Franco-Tunisian born in Tunisia.

Though unconfirmed, this tallies with the profile of a man whose identity papers were reportedly discovered inside the vehicle. A police source quoted by news agency AFP said the papers belonged to a resident of Nice.

“I express in the name of the nation, our tears, solidarity, with the victims and the families,” Mr Hollande said.

He pledged to strengthen France’s role in Syria and Iraq and extended the nation’s state of emergency – imposed after November’s attacks in Paris – for a further three months.

At least 18 people remain in a critical condition, with hospitals in the area appealing for blood.

Laurence Marie, who works at Lenval paediatric hospital, has said “many” children are undergoing serious operations there.

Nice’s famous luxury Negresco hotel, meanwhile, has been turned into a makeshift ward, with dozens of frightened and injured victims gathered in the marble lobby.

The hashtag #RecherchesNice has been started for people still looking for loved ones.

This is the worst disaster in the history of Nice as more than 70 people have already lost their lives, killed by the driver as he fired at the crowds ahead of him,” Mr Estrosi said in a statement.

“We are terrified and we want to express our sincere condolences to the families involved.

“Today, we must act. We are currently in touch with the State authorities who are dealing with this crisis.”

The Paris prosecutor’s has office opened an investigation for “murder, attempted murder in an organised group linked to a terrorist enterprise”. The probe is being handled by France’s intelligence agency and judicial police.

The Foreign Office says it is in touch with local authorities in Nice and has advised anyone in the area to follow the instructions of French authorities.

The attack comes days after France breathed a sigh of relief after hosting the Euros 2016 without incident.

The tournament took place under heavy security following the Paris attack that left 130 dead.

Drake ” I am Concerned For The Safety Of My Family And Friends”.

#WeGotYourBack #WeGotItCovered #BreakingNews #SkyNews #USA #Louisiana #AltonSterlingShooting #Drake #OpenLetter #Instagram #LawEnforcement #NAACP

Singer Drake says he has been left “truly scared” about the “strained” relationship between police and black people after the shooting of a man in Louisiana.

Alton Sterling had been selling CDs outside a Baton Rouge convenience store when two white officers tried to arrest him.

His death was filmed on the mobile phone of an onlooker who said the shooting was another example of deadly force being used by police officers.

Reports said Mr Sterling, 37, had been brandishing a gun when he was shot in the chest and back but this was disputed by witnesses.

In an open letter posted on Instagram, Drake, who is Canadian but calls America his “second home”, said the death had left him “disheartened, emotional and truly scared”.

“It is impossible to ignore that the relationship between black and brown communities and law enforcement remains as strained as it was decades ago.

“No one begins their life as a hashtag. Yet the trend of being reduced to one continues.”

AltonSterling began trending on social media soon after the shooting on Tuesday morning.

Drake said he remained hopeful that “things can change for the better” and offered his condolences to Mr Sterling’s family.

At a news conference on Wednesday, the head of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) in Baton Rouge called for the police chief to be fired.

“What I’m calling for today is that the chief law enforcement officer to fire the police chief,” Michael McClanahan said. “He must step down. We cannot have anybody who allows this type of action to take place.”

Bruno Mars, Katy Perry, Susan Sarandon and Justin Timberlake are just some of the other celebrities to have commented on the shooting.

Terror Group Claims Responsibility For Pulse Nightclub Mass Shooting, That Left 50 Dead

#WeGotYourBack #WeGotItCovered #ITVNews #NightClubMassShooting #TerrorGroup #OmarMateen #USA #Orlando #Florida #PulseNightClub #50Dead

Fifty people have been killed and dozens injured after a gunman opened fire in a gay nightclub in Orlando, Florida.

Here’s what we know about the deadliest mass shooting in US history.

Armed with an assault rifle, handgun and wearing a suspicious device around his body, Omar Mateen burst into Pulse nightclub and opened fire at around 2am.

“Everyone get out of pulse and keep running,” a post on the club’s Facebook said around 30 minutes later.

Mateen initially exchanged fire with a police officer who was working at the venue before taking hostages.

At around 5am, police stormed the building and Mateen was killed in the ensuing gunfight – bringing the three-hour standoff to an end.

  • The death toll

At least 50 people have been killed, making the Pulse nightclub attack the worst shooting on US soil.

That figure could still rise further – 53 wounded people are in hospital.

  • The killer

Omar Mateen called 911 to pledge allegiance to so-called Islamic State shortly after he launched his attack, NBC News reported.

The terror group claimed responsibility on Sunday evening in a statement through its Amaq news agency, saying an “Islamic State fighter” had carried out the attack.

Mateen was interviewed twice by the FBI after apparently making inflammatory comments to a colleague.

Despite this, he was allowed to legally purchase the guns used in the attack last week.

Mateen’s father denied there was a religious motive, telling NBC that his son hated gay people and recently became angry when he saw two men kissing in Miami.

Mateen was born in New York 29 years ago to parents who had emigrated from Afghanistan.

His ex-wife said he was violent, mentally unstable and regularly beat her during their eight years of marriage.

There were more than 300 people inside the club.

Survivors and eyewitnesses have been recalling how the horrific attack unfolded.

All you saw is people running and screaming and there were bodies in the parking lot where bodies were being tagged.

It was like a scene from a horror movie.

– CHRISTOPHER HANSEN, SPEAKING TO CNN

It was tragic. I heard loud banging noises, gunshots going off.

I wasn’t sure if it was the music, or the ending to a song or something.

It went with the beat almost, until there were too many shots.

It was just like bang, bang, bang. That’s when you just know. It was chaos.

– WITNESS

Just looking into the eyes of our officers told the whole story.

– POLICE OFFICER ON CRIME SCENE
  • Worldwide condemnation

President Obama said the attack was an “act of terror and an act of hate”, calling it a “heartbreaking day” for the LGBT community.

“No act of hate or terror will ever change who we are or the values that make us Americans,” he said in a statement.

obama_web_clip

Prime Minister David Cameron said he was “horrified” by the massacre while Pope Francis expressed “horror and condemnation”.

The Queen sent a personal message to President Obama to convey her sympathies, Buckingham Palace said.

French president Francois Hollande said he “expresses the full support of France and the French with America’s authorities and its people in this difficult time”.

Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton told the LGBT community that they had “millions of allies” across the country as she expressed her shock at the atrocity.

Donald Trump, the presumptive Republican nominee, sparked outrage when he said he appreciated the “congrats for being right on radical Islamic terrorism”.

One Of 219 Chibok Schoolgirls Kidnapped By Boko Haram in 2014, Has Been Found Alive.

#WeGotYourBack #WeGotItCovered #BreakingNews #Nigeria #Politics #BokoHaram #ChibokSchoolGirls #Kidnapped #FoundAlive #NigerianArmy #YoutubeVideo

The first of 219 girls kidnapped by terror group Boko Haram in 2014 has been found alive, the Nigerian army has said.

“This is to confirm that one of the abducted Chibok schoolgirls… was among rescued persons by our troops,” army spokesman Colonel Sani Usman said in a statement.

Colonel Usman gave her name as Falmata Mbalala and said she was discovered in Baale, near the town of Damboa, 90km (56 miles) southwest of the Borno state capital, Maiduguri.

Activists and community leaders said she was found on Tuesday and brought to meet her mother in the town of Mbalala, near Chibok, before being taken to a military base in Damboa.

The 19-year-old’s uncle, Yakubu Nkeki, said she was pregnant and traumatised, but otherwise unharmed.

Amina Ali Nkeki was apparently found in the Sambisa Forest

Her father died while she was being held captive, Mr Nkeki said.

Manaseh Allan, a Chibok youth leader, told the AFP news agency: “The girl was found by local vigilantes in Kilakesa village on the edge of Sambisa Forest near Damboa.

Parents march for kidnapped girls in Nigeria

“She was brought first to Chibok by the vigilantes who took her to the vice-principal of her school, who immediately identified her as Aisha Ali, which is her name in the school register.

“She was presented to community leaders as Amina Ali but her name as it appears in the school register is Aisha Ali.

“It is common for children in Chibok to be called with one name in school and another at home.”

A statement from the #Bringbackourgirls activist group quoted Falmata as saying the other girls were also in the Sambisa Forest area and were heavily guarded.

She is now thought to be travelling to the Borno state capital, Maiduguri.

There was international outrage when 276 girls – mostly aged between 16 and 18 – were abducted from their school in Chibok in April 2014.

More than 50 managed to escape over the next few months.

High-profile figures including American first lady Michelle Obama joined a campaign with the hashtag: #BringBackOurGirls.

Hope was briefly raised in April 2015 when the Nigerian military announced it had rescued 200 girls and 93 women from the Sambisa Forest.

It later emerged that the Chibok girls were not among them.

Boko Haram militants have killed an estimated 15,000 people and kidnapped hundreds of men, women and children during a six-year campaign to establish an Islamic caliphate in northeastern Nigeria.
