Make no mistake: Khaby Lame is a gamer as well. He may be most known for wordless videos displaying his overly expressive face.

The social media titan, who has over 160 million followers and is the most followed user on TikTok, recently completed one of his most ambitious endeavors to date: becoming a video game character.
The latest season of the immensely popular battle royale game Fortnite from Epic Games features Lame and is centered around a high-stakes robbery. Chapter 4: After obtaining Lame’s “icon series” skin through the Battle Pass system, Season 4, called “Last Resort,” enables players to slip past security cameras and get into vaults as Lame.
“For a very long time, I have been a great ‘Fortnite’ fan. I’ve been playing for five years, and occasionally I’ve uploaded videos to YouTube or mentioned Fortnite in stories. I was really excited about this game,” Lame says Variety, adding that in the past he has primarily taken the role of Black Knight.
About a year ago, Epic took notice of me and got in touch with me to see if I would be interested in working with them. “My response was nothing but excitement,” he remembers. Who wouldn’t want to play a video game action hero? It sounded like so much fun.
But Lame didn’t only approve of his likeness. He worked closely with Epic Games to perfect every last detail. I must admit, it was a pleasure working with the ‘Fortnite’ team. It was crucial to me that I had complete control over my character’s attire, appearance, and role,” Lame explains.
“I took a lot of notes during the creation process. Spending time with the group while generating and exchanging clothing ideas… I’m recording and photographing my motions to use in-game. It was a fantastic process, he continues.
Lame experienced a visceral reaction when his skin went live in the game, despite his lengthy work process: “On release day, I got on the game and started playing. It seemed strange. To be honest, I spent a good 15 minutes just staring at my character. I just took some time to enjoy the game and the experience because I am so privileged.
Lame claims that so far, the fan reaction has been extremely positive. Whenever my admirers email me screenshots and shout-outs of them acting out my persona, it is what I love the most. It’s been wonderful.
