P-Square has outdone themselves again with the release of the stylish music video for "Beautiful Onyinye," which features none other than the head honcho of Maybach Music, Rick Ross.
P-Square have truly risen to the top since their previous video, "Chop My Money," which featured Akon.
"Beautiful Onyinye" is a song by Nigerian duo P-Square featuring American rapper Rick Ross . This track first featured on their 2005 album The Invasion (2011). The song was recorded soon after P-Square inked partnerships with Akon's Konvict Muzik and Universal Music Group.
Song Conception
They told Okay Nigeria TV that they were in the studio with Akon in Atlanta when Rick Ross dropped by. While they were playing the original, Rick Ross gushed about its feel. Following this, Akon recommended working with Rick Ross to the pair. The pair were in agreement and informed their manager, Jude Engees Okoye. Contract details were ironed out over the phone with Rick Ross's agent. When questioned about the video shoot, the two members said, "We shot Rick Ross' scenes in Miami and shot the rest of the video in South Africa in order to maintain our African identity."
Concerts and other performances
P-Square led a performance at the 2012 Love AfroBeats Festival on August 26 and played "Beautiful Onyinye." The HMV Apollo in London also saw a sold-out performance of the song by the pair.
At the 2012 Nigeria Music Video Awards, the music video for "Beautiful Onyinye" was up for Best Afro Pop and Video of the Year (NMVA).

History
Peter Okoye and Paul Okoye, better known as P-Square, are a musical duo from Nigeria. Square Records, now Square Root Entertainment, was responsible for both the album's production and release.
They joined Akon's Konvict Muzik label in December 2011.
P-Square inked a contract with Universal Music South Africa in May of 2012 to distribute their albums. The news of the group's breakup spread over the media on September 25th, 2017. Peter allegedly sent a termination letter to the band's attorney, sparking speculation about a breakup. According to previous reports, the group split up in 2016 due to tensions with their management.
Their long-running dispute came to an end on November 17, 2021, and they made up.
Following their publicised reunion on July 21, 2022, P-Square released two new songs, "Jaiye (Ihe Geme)" and "Find Somebody," which became international hits.
