Manchester United Boss Jose Mourinho Charged By The FA For Abusive Language

Following Manchester United’s game against Newcastle United on October 6th 2018 Man Utd’s manager Jose Mourinho has been charged by the Football Association for using improper language.

According to a report by the FA it is alleged that Mourinho was filmed looking into a camera at the live game speaking in Portuguese, it reads:

“It is alleged that his language at the end of the fixture, as captured by the broadcast footage, was abusive and/or insulting and/or improper,” this statement reads. “He has until 6pm on 19 October 2018 to respond to the charge.”

The FA went on to investigate further and employed a professional lip reader who had interpreted Mourinho’s words as improper.

Saturday’s game was heavy with tension after Man Utd had to deny reports made just before the match that Mourinho was to be sacked regardless of the outcome.

Mourinho was tense during and after the match, the television cameras on him after the game had ended and as he was making his way off the pitch the alleged incident occurred.

When the final whistle had gone the 55-year old also claimed he was the subject of a man hunt after his team came through with a late victory after being 2-0 down at half time against Newcastle United.

After enlisting the services of a lip reader who determined that Mourinho’s language was improper, the FA have given Mourinho till Friday 19 October 2018 18:00 BST to respond. They will then determine whether he is guilty or not which could result in either a fine or a suspension from the touch line. Sports article
