Letitia Wright named the highest-earning box office actor of 2018, beating out several Avengers: Infinity War stars
Black Panther and Avengers: Infinity War star Letitia Wright edged out several of her co-stars to become the highest-grossing actor of 2018.
The actress also starred in the Warner Bros. adaptation Ready Player One and Lionsgate’s The Commuter in 2018, with her films grossing $1.55 billion, according toFandango.
Both Black Panther ($700 million) and Avengers: Infinity War ($678.8 million) finished as the highest grossing movies of the year, but Wright’s non-Marvel films were enough to give her the edge over several co-stars.
There was a five-way tie for second place with $1.38 billion with Chadwick Boseman, Winston Duke, Danai Gurira, Florence Kasumba and Sebastian Stan, who all starred in both Black Panther and Avengers: Infinity War.
Samuel L. Jackson, who starred in Avengers: Infinity War, Incredibles 2 ($608.5 million) and Life Itself ($4.1 million), came in third with $1.29 billion.
Chris Pratt, who starred in Avengers: Infinity War and Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom ($416.7 million) took fourth place with $1.1 billion.

Wright, 25, kicked off her year playing Jules Skateboarder in The Commuter in January, before playing the tech-savvy Shuri in Black Panther in February.
She played Reb (Safe House) in Steven Spielberg’s Ready Player One in late March, before returning as Shuri in Avengers: Infinity War in late April.
After seeing Fandango’s initial tweet, Wright had some fun with her new title, stating, ‘dope dope. just deposit that amount into my bank account.’
Her co-star Winston Duke, who made his feature film debut as M’Baku in Black Panther, jokingly responded to her tweet, stating, ‘Yeah Sis!!! Let’s get our cut!!’
Wright could very well find herself on this list again when she stars in Avengers: Endgame, which brings Marvel’s Phase 3 to a close on April 26, 2019.
