ACTRESS LETITIA WRIGHT IS THE HIGHEST-GROSSING ACTOR OF 2019, WITH HER FILMS EARNING $1.55 BILLION.

**Top box office star: Letitia Wright becomes the highest-grossing box office star of the year, with her four movies raking in $1.55 billion**

Both Black Panther ($700 million) and Avengers: Infinity War ($678.8 million) were the year’s biggest earning pictures, but Wright’s non-Marvel flicks were enough to put her ahead of her co-stars.

Chadwick Boseman, Winston Duke, Danai Gurira, Florence Kasumba, and Sebastian Stan, who all appeared in both Black Panther and Avengers: Infinity War, tied for second place with $1.38 billion.

With $1.29 billion, Samuel L. Jackson, who featured in Avengers: Infinity War, Incredibles 2 ($608.5 million), and Life Itself ($4.1 million), finished third.

With $1.1 billion, Chris Pratt ($416.7 million) from Avengers: Infinity War and Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom came in fourth place.

Big stars: There was a five-way tie for second place with $1.38 billion with Chadwick Boseman, Winston Duke, Danai Gurira, Florence Kasumba and Sebastian Stan, who all starred in both Black Panther and Avengers: Infinity War

With an even $1 billion from Infinity War, Deadpool 2 ($318.4 million) and Sicario: Day of the Soldado ($50 million), Josh Brolin rounded out the top five.

Wright, 25, began the year as Jules Skateboarder in The Commuter before transforming into the tech-savvy Shuri in Black Panther in February.

In late March, she appeared as Reb (Safe House) in Steven Spielberg’s Ready Player One before reprising her role as Shuri in Avengers: Infinity War in late April.

Shuri debut: Wright, 25, kicked off her year playing Jules Skateboarder in The Commuter in January, before playing the tech-savvy Shuri in Black Panther in February

After seeing Fandango’s initial tweet, Wright had some fun with her new title, stating, ‘dope dope. just deposit that amount into my bank account.’

Her co-star Winston Duke, who made his feature film debut as M’Baku in Black Panther, jokingly responded to her tweet, stating, ‘Yeah Sis!!! Let’s get our cut!!’

Wright could very well find herself on this list again when she stars in Avengers: Endgame, which brings Marvel’s Phase 3 to a close on April 26, 2019.

Wright was largely an unknown talent before landing the Shuri role, with small roles in Victim, My Brother the Devil and Urban Hymn.

She also had guest-starring spots in Doctor Who, Humans and an episode of Black Mirror.

Wright is currently in post-production on a new film, Guava Island, where she stars alongside Donald Glover, Rihanna and Game of Thrones stars Nonso Anozie
