JESSIE J has opened up about the downside to her fame but her revelation hasn’t gone down well with fans, who weren’t too impressed with her honesty.
The Do It Like A Dude singer spoke to Women’s Health about her success, and explained: “It makes me sad. I’ve done the Grammys, the VMAs… My profile in America is that I’m kind of celebrated as one of the greatest singers and I love it.”
However, since the interview, the 27 year old has come under fire for her comments, with one Twitter user writing: “So Jessie J is sad the UK doesn’t think she’s one of the singing greats…. and that’s the exact reason the UK hates Jessie J.”
“Jessie J has a GREAT voice. Her runs are magic …. BUT … Saying she’s celebrated as one of the greatest singers in America is a reach,” another added.
One unimpressed fan tweeted: “Jessie J is a has been she tended to her own UK career demise by going back on everything she “stood” for and being a rude b***h.”
“I wanna be up there with the Celine Dions, the Whitneys, the Beyoncés and Arethas,” she told the magazine.
“I go hard because I hope and pray that one day, people look back and go, ‘She could really f*****g sing, you know.’ Which is why I keep going.”
The full interview appears in the March 2016 issue of Women’s Health UK, on sale 9th February.
