New signee to Bad Boy records, Morocan born, bronx raised Rapper ‘French Montana‘ comes with a hot new track titled, ‘Shot Caller’.
French Montana’s first commercial single, “Shot Caller,” was released on January 10, 2012. The American record producer Harry Fraud is credited with producing the hip-hop tune included in the chorus. Originally released on February 15, 2011, as part of Montana’s mixtape Mister 16: Casino Life.
Having signed with P. Diddy’s Bad Boy Records in December 2011, French Montana promoted his single “Shot Caller” with a video released on WorldStarHipHop on December 11, 2012. On January 12, 2012, Charlie Rock was recognised as the featured vocalist for the song’s chorus on a commercially released single of the song.

Featuring P. Diddy, Rick Ross, and Charlie Rock, a remix of the song was released on November 23, 2011.
After it was announced in January 2012 that Montana had signed a joint co-signing contract with Diddy’s Bad Boy Records and Ross’s Maybach Music Group, a promotional video and single for “Shot Caller (Remix)” were released on February 21, 2012.
The video for “Shot Caller” was shot on August 18, 2011. In addition to starring Yaris Sanchez, the video included cameos by rappers and producers like P. Diddy, Fat Joe, Waka Flocka, Busta Rhymes, Trae Tha Truth, Chinx Drugz, and Harry Fraud. On December 8, 2011, WorldStarHipHop published the advertisement.
The video for “Shot Caller (Remix)” was shot on January 29, 2012, and included cameos from Wale, DJ Khaled, Meek Mill, Ace Hood, and Lil Poopie, a young rap artist. Release dates for the music video and song were February 21 and 22, 2012, respectively.
The beginning
Moroccan-American Karim Kharbouch is best known by his stage name, French Montana. Having spent his first 13 years of life in the Kingdom of Morocco, he and his family made the decision to leave and seek a better life in the United States. He started both the Coke Boys and Cocaine City record labels. After years of releasing music on his own, in 2012 he inked a joint-venture record contract with Puff Daddy’s Bad Boy Records and Rick Ross’s Maybach Music Group.
Kharbouch debuted with the release of a mixtape in 2007, and he found mainstream success with the release of the track “Choppa Choppa Down” in 2010. On May 21, 2013, he released his first studio album, Excuse My French. Montana’s second studio album, titled Jungle Rules, was released in July 2017 and peaked at No. 3 on the Billboard 200. The album’s debut single, “Unforgettable,” featured Swae Lee and peaked in the top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100, marking Montana’s only solo chart success to date.
