BREAKING NEWS: Prostate Cancer Medication “Degarelix” Could Be The New Treatment For Paedophilia.

Paedophiles are being treated with medication as part of a groundbreaking study to see whether it can prevent them from abusing children.

In the first scientific trial of its kind, men who are having sexual fantasies about children are being given a drug normally used to treat prostate cancer.

The drug, called degarelix, dramatically lowers levels of the male sex hormone testosterone, roughly to those of a prepubescent boy.

Sky News was given exclusive access to the trial at the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm, Sweden.

Paedophiles are being treated with medication as part of a groundbreaking study to see whether it can prevent them from abusing children.

The drug being used is normally given to prostate cancer patients

Lead researcher Dr Christoffer Rahm said the drug had been shown to reduce sex drive in cancer patients, raising hopes that it could also reduce the risk of paedophiles sexually abusing children.

He said: “What is considered to be a negative side effect when you use the drug for advanced prostate cancer – reduced sexual arousal – is the effect we want to have in this context (treating paedophilia).”

The researchers will give a single injection of degarelix to 60 paedophiles who volunteer to join the study. None of the men have sexually abused children.

They will be compared with an equal number of men given dummy placebo injections.

Neither the men nor the doctors will know who is getting active medication and it is the first time a rigorous scientific trial has been done on paedophilia treatment.

Past attempts at chemical castration have been anecdotal and inconclusive.

But degarelix is a newer drug that has an immediate testosterone-lowering effect.

Dr Rahm said: “It’s important we have evidence-based treatment.

“We need to shift the focus away from what to do when the damage is already done on to preventing the sexual abuse happening in the first place.”

Sky News met one young man involved in the study. We agreed to protect his identity and gave him a fake name.

‘Anders’ has not abused children, but fears he might.

He told Sky News: “We didn’t choose to be this way. Nobody would, obviously. And yet nobody accepts us, everybody hates us, we can’t be open with it.

“Hopefully (the drug) will take my mind off these things so I don’t have to be so frustrated and miserable.”

All the men in the study will have a series of MRI brain scans taken while they look at computer-generated images.

Anders’ brain scan shows more activity in areas involved in visual processing and arousal when he sees images of children.

The researchers hope to identify a typical ‘brain pattern’ of a paedophile and that treatment will normalise the scan results.

The Daily Mail ” Sweden Is Naive, And An Example Of The Negative Consequences Of A Liberal Migration Policy.

#WeGotYourBack #WeGotItCovered #BreakingNews #GuardianNews #Sweden #MigrationPolicy #Ambassador NicolaClase #PrimeMinisterStefanLöfvens

Sweden’s leading news agency, TT, quoted from a report sent by the embassy to the foreign ministry in Stockholm which states: “Sweden is being used as a deterrent and an argument against allowing more refugees into the UK… The tabloid Daily Mail has launched a campaign against Swedish migration policy.

The report, approved by the Swedish ambassador Nicola Clase, was sent to the offices of Sweden’s prime minister Stefan Löfvens and foreign minister Hans Dahlgren.

It also refers to an incident last month in which a worker at a refugee centre in Gothenburg, Alexandra Mezher, was stabbed to death, allegedly by an asylum seeker. The Mail carried several articles about the murder, including a follow-up about the Swedish city destroyed by migration.

But the embassy’s report pointed to the humanitarian success of Sweden’s migration policy, noting: “Sweden has been seen as a pioneer symbolising humanism, solidarity, transparency and has risen above all the challenges that Swedish society is facing with the large number of refugees.”

According to its report, the embassy is said to be working with various UK agencies, including PR firms, to counter what it regards as the negative portrayal of its government’s handling of the refugee crisis.

The embassy also noted that the stories republished by the paper’s digital arm,Mail Online, have received comments it regards as racist.

A Swedish embassy spokesman stressed that it is part of its routine work to send such reports to Stockholm. These are “statements of fact,” he told me.

Sweden plans to expel as many as 80,000 failed asylum-seekers

#WeGotYourBack #WeGotItCovered #WorldNews #BreakingNews #Europe #Sweden

The authorities in Sweden are making plans to expel as many as 80,000 failed asylum-seekers, the interior minister has been quoted as saying.

Anders Ygeman said charter aircraft would be used to deport the migrants but it would take several years.

Some 163,000 migrants applied for asylum in Sweden in 2015, the highest per capita number in Europe.

The numbers have fallen significantly since Sweden imposed tighter border controls this year.

Along with Germany, the Scandinavian country is a prime destination for refugees and other migrants entering the EU illegally.

Of the approximately 58,800 asylum cases processed in Sweden last year, 55% were accepted.

Of those facing expulsion, Mr Ygeman was quoted in Swedish media as saying: “We are talking about 60,000 people but the number could climb to 80,000.”

But he later tweeted to say he had not taken a position on how many migrants had grounds for asylum, it being a matter for the authorities and the courts.

Sweden earlier this week became the latest of a number of European nations to see tensions over migrants heightened by violence. A 15-year-old asylum seeker was arrested in Molndal, near Gothenburg, after a 22-year-old asylum centre employee was stabbed to death.

Greece criticised

More than one million refugees and migrants travelled to Europe last year, most fleeing conflicts in Syria, Iraq and Afghanistan.

The UN says another 46,000 people have arrived in Greece so far this year, with more than 170 killed making the dangerous crossing from Turkey.

Which countries are in the Schengen zone?

Schengen zone

On Wednesday, a draft European Commission report said Greece “seriously neglected” its obligations to control the external frontier of Europe’s passport-freeSchengen zone.

Greek government spokeswoman Olga Gerovasili accused the Commission of “blame games” and said it had failed to act on a programme agreed last year to relocate tens of thousands of migrants and refugees stranded in Greece.

Denmark has also faced criticism this week after approving legislation to seize the valuables of refugees in the hope of limiting the influx of migrants.

Some have likened the Danish proposals to the confiscation of gold and other valuables from Jews by the Nazis during the Holocaust.

China releases Swedish rights activist Peter Dahlin

#WeGotYourBack #WeGotItCovered #BreakingNews #China #Sweden #PeterDahlin

A Swedish activist who was detained in China on charges of damaging national security has been released and deported.

Peter Dahlin, 35, has been held since early January amid a crackdown on human rights lawyers and activists.

Last week he appeared on state media apparently confessing to breaking the law through his organisation’s support of local Chinese rights lawyers.

The Swedish embassy confirmed he had left China but gave no further details.

Its foreign minister welcomed Mr Dahlin’s release, but expressed concern about another Swede in Chinese detention.

‘Absurd’ confession

Mr Dahlin is the founder of Chinese Urgent Action Working Group (China Action), which describes itself as a legal aid organisation.

It provides assistance to uncertified “barefoot” lawyers who provide legal aid in rural areas, and provides direct help to disadvantaged groups and individuals who have experienced rights violations.

The group had said Mr Dahlin was detained on 4 January while en route to the airport for a flight to Thailand.

Last week, in a report on state television, Mr Dahlin appeared to confess to helping the Beijing law firm Fengrui – a number of the firm’s lawyers have recently been detained on charges of subversion.

Mr Dahlin said he had violated Chinese law, caused harm to the Chinese government and hurt the Chinese public.

China Action called the report “absurd” and said the confession appeared to be forced.

Analysis: John Sudworth, Beijing correspondent

China’s image as a sophisticated, rising superpower appears increasingly at odds with its toughening campaign against dissidents, activists and lawyers, and Peter Dahlin’s case is a good illustration of that widening gulf.

Mr Dahlin found himself first held in secret detention, then paraded on state TV making a confession that had all the hallmarks of one written for him, before finally finding himself accused of being a foreign agent engaged in a mission to smear China.

Friends and colleagues of his say the charge would be absurd, laughable even, were it not for the fact that it carries such serious consequences. But unlike Chinese nationals facing the same arbitrary justice, Mr Dahlin had the benefit of a foreign government working on his behalf.

His sudden release may be the result of that intense diplomatic effort or it may simply be that he has served China’s purpose in sending a chilling message to other foreign NGOs operating in China: engagement with Western organisations and values is fine in so far as they help boost China’s capitalist economy, but they will not be tolerated if they are perceived to threaten Communist Party rule.

WRECKAGE has been discovered after a plane which took off from London sent out a distress signal near the Norwegian border, according to reports

Swedish relief workers have raced to the scene after the plane sent out a mayday call roughly 15 miles away from the Norwegian border where it was flying from Heathrow Airport.

The Canadair CRJ 200 had caused alarm after not making contact since it sent out the distress signal between Norway’s Lake Akkajaure and the Swedish Lapland Mountains.
