BURNA BOY – 23 [OFFICIAL MUSIC VIDEO]

The film, directed by Clarence Peters and produced by Skread, has multiple references to basketball player Michael Jordan, whose jersey number “23” is named after him. In honour of Women’s History Month, Burna Boy thinks of Jordan as a role model for people who want to follow their dreams and achieve them. In this song, he tells the stories of four people who have big dreams: a young singer-songwriter, a dancer, and a music producer.

 

Burna Boy and Becky G collaborated on the tune “Rotate” earlier this month. He also collaborated with Sia on the song “Hey Boy,” which was included on her album Music-Songs From and Inspired by the Motion Picture.

Burna Boy’s fifth studio album, Twice as Tall, was released in August of 2020. The album won Best Global Music Album at the Grammys in 2021. A recent solo song by him was inspired by the massacre in Lagos, Nigeria, where security forces opened fire on peaceful protesters who were demonstrating against police brutality.

Burna Boy said in a statement that “the earnings of this song would be used to benefit families of victims and others experiencing sorrow as a result of the Lekki massacres.” “May the skies open and honour all of our fallen heroes who have given their lives for this cause since the beginning.” “May all the wonderful lives that have passed away rest in peace.”
