Benny Banks is a rapper coming fresh out of Islington, North London and is possibly one of the most talked about UK rap artists around at the moment.

Benjamin O’Leary, better known by his stage name Benny Banks, is a rapper from Britain. He was a lifelong Londoner who grew up in the neighbourhood of Islington.

Benny surprised even himself with the reception he received during a 2010 appearance on 1Xtra’s “Fire in the Booth” as a guest with the DJ Charlie Sloth. As word of his unquestionable skill spread, he was soon asked to appear in more interviews and films for a wide range of prestigious urban networks. People were blown away by his “Warm Up Session” on the enormous urban web channel SBTV, and it was at this time that he became well recognised as a major player in the UK urban business. In addition to his work with 1Xtra and SBTV, Benny has also collaborated with the likes of “Grime Daily,” made his online debut on the websites ZEETVD and UK Overstood, and launched his own YouTube channel in January 2011. His YouTube solo videos have amassed over 2 million views, which is evidence that his music and lyrics are deeply appreciated by his listeners.

After discovering Benny Banks, MTV and RWD Magazine both wanted to interview him for their respective wrap-up shows. He has not only collaborated with a number of urban periodicals but has also had his songs sought out by prominent UK urban radio programmes like those on BBC Radio and Choice FM. The talented UK female rapper Roxanne, the rap duo Joe Black and Squeeks, and the vocalist Hipman Junky are just a few of the musicians with whom the artist has been able to work thanks to the artist’s good fortune (who has supported popular UK group N-Dubz on their 2011 arena tour at the special request of dappy).

He already caused a big hype in 2011 and has starred on Charlie Sloths show on his ‘Fire In The Booth’ series on BBC Radio 1xtra.
