Jon Voight, the father of Angelina Jolie, has criticized his daughter for her opinions on the Israel-Hamas conflict and charged that she is disseminating “lies” on social media.
In a recent article, The Girl, 48-year-old performer who was once a special ambassador of the UN High Commission for Refugees, accused Israel of breaking international law by “deliberately bombing children, women, families, deprived of food, medicine, and humanitarian aid.”
In a vehement video message posted on X/Twitter on November 4, Voight, 84, responded by expressing his disappointment that his daughter “has no understanding of God’s honor, God’s truth.” He then continued, saying, “the Israeli army must protect thy soil.”
Approximately 1,400 Israelis were killed on October 7 in a surprise attack over the border by Hamas, many of whom were civilians.
The Palestinian Health Ministry reports that since the onslaught, airstrikes on Gaza have claimed the lives of around 10,000 civilians, including 4,000 children.
Subsequently, when the Israeli army intensified its attacks on the beleaguered strip, Jolie reiterated her plea for an immediate ceasefire to facilitate the delivery of essential aid into Gaza.
Jolie, 48, wrote: “Millions of Palestinian civilians—children, women, and families—are being collectively punished and dehumanized while the world watches and with the active support of many governments, all while being deprived of food, medicine, and humanitarian aid against international law.” “World leaders are complicit in these crimes by refusing to demand a humanitarian ceasefire and by obstructing the UN Security Council from imposing one on both parties.”
In a three-minute video, Voight responded to Jolie’s “lies” while seated in front of an American flag, saying that the Israeli army “must protect thy soil, thy people.”
“I am very disappointed that my daughter, like so many others, has no understanding of God’s honor and God’s truths,” the Midnight Heat actor said in the opening line.
Voight went on, “This is justice for God’s children of the holy land. This is about destroying the history of God’s land, the Holy Land, the land of the Jews.”
“The Israeli army must protect thy soil, thy people. This is war. It’s not going to be what the left thinks, it can’t be civil now.
“You fools call Israel the problem, you should look at yourself and ask ‘Who am I?’ ‘What am I?’ And ask God if I am learning the truth, or am I being lied to and following everyone else? Because, my friends, the ones who understand truth see the lie.”
According to an official joint statement, Jolie left her position as special envoy to the UNHCR in December 2022 after 20 years of “advocating for the rights and protection of forcibly displaced people around the world.”
Jolie “has used her powerful voice to build awareness and support for refugees and to call for urgent action and solutions for people forced to flee” since her appointment as Special Envoy in 2012, the statement continued.
