During the height of his success, Russell Brand was accused of rape, sexual assault, and emotional abuse by four women.
In the wake of a joint investigation by The Sunday Times, The Times, and Channel 4 Dispatches, he is also accused of engaging in abusive, predatory, and domineering behavior.
The alleged instances are said to have occurred between 2006 and 2013, while he was performing in Hollywood movies and working for BBC Radio 2 and Channel 4.
The comedian and actor had already refuted what he described as “very serious criminal allegations” on Friday night.
Brand claimed in a video broadcast to his social media and YouTube accounts that he had received two “extremely disturbing” messages in the form of emails and letters.
One came from a mainstream media TV firm, and the other, he claimed, was from a newspaper, “listing a litany of extremely egregious and aggressive attacks along with some very serious allegations that I absolutely refute.”
“Now, during that period of promiscuity, the relationships I had were absolutely, always consensual,” Brand added. I was virtually always too upfront about that back then, and I’m still being upfront about it now.
“Seeing that transparency turn into something criminal, which I categorically deny, makes me wonder if another agenda is at work.”
Brand asserted that he thought he was a part of a “coordinated attack” and promised to check into the situation.
One woman among the accusers says Brand assaulted her sexually over the course of a three-month relationship when she was 16 and enrolled in school.
She called his treatment of her “grooming” since he allegedly gave her instructions on how to trick her parents into letting her visit him.
The woman got in touch with Tavistock Wood co-founder and Brand’s literary agency in 2020.
Russell Brand angrily and emphatically refuted the charge made in 2020, but we now think he misled us severely, according to a statement released to the PA news agency. TW has severed all business links with Brand.
A third woman claims that Brand sexually attacked her while she was working with him in Los Angeles and threatened to sue her if she notified anybody about the incident. A fourth woman claims that Brand raped her at his Los Angeles residence.
A fourth lady alleges that Brand sexually assaulted her and was verbally and physically hostile to her.
The actor and comedian previously asserted that he had had intimate connections with hundreds of women in the past and that he had no regrets about his prior sexual behavior in the aftermath of the #MeToo movement.
The BBC was one of the organizations Russell Brand worked for, according to a BBC representative. Russell Brand and the then-controller of Radio 2 both departed the BBC in 2008 following a significant editorial breach, as is widely documented.
“A detailed investigation of the breach’s circumstances was done at the time. We think that proves the BBC is willing to take action and that it takes matters seriously.
In fact, the BBC has improved over the years in how it handles talent and responds to complaints or other difficulties.
As stated in employment contracts, the BBC Values, the BBC Code of Conduct, and the Anti-Bullying and Harassment Policy, “We have clear expectations regarding conduct at work.
If somebody comes forward with concerns about any individual working at the BBC, past or present, we will always listen to them.

Brand, who previously married to US music artist Katy Perry from 2010 to 2012, is now married to broadcaster Kirsty Gallacher’s sister Laura. The couple has two daughters, Mabel and Peggy.
Kirsty uploaded Brand’s video on her Instagram account on Saturday along with a large red heart.
Brand appears to have emerged as a well-known conspiracy theorist in recent years. For example, during his interview with Evan Davis on Newsnight, Brand declared that he was open-minded to the possibility that the American government staged the 9/11 terror attacks.
Brand, who has nearly seven million subscribers on YouTube, has utilized the platform to discuss current events, including the Covid epidemic and being an ardent opponent of the vaccination.
A global Covid cover-up and the Great Reset conspiracy theory, according to which a global elite is utilizing the pandemic to impose profound social change, are two of Brand’s most watched videos.
There are still four performances of Russell Brand Bipolarization, his brand-new live comedy act, left in September, including this Saturday at Wembley Park Theatre.
