50 Cent has always been the kind to put a lot of effort into trolling his celebrity peers. But the rapper, who we have politely dubbed the King of Petty, has taken his feud with Ja Rule to whole other level by purchasing a bunch of front row seats for his concert so that they would be empty.
‘People think I’m mean so go see this. $15 bucks wait what I do now LOL,’ he wrote as an Instagram caption alongside a photo of the tickets being sold on Groupon.
The Get Rich or Die Tryin’ rapper carried on poking fun at the fellow rapper when he claimed to have bought 200 seats to Ja’s show which is set to be held on 9 November, in Arlington Texas.
Commenting under the post, he said: ‘I just bought 200 seats in the front so they can be empty. LOL.’ The former Power actor could most likely make a living out of this as he posted a Photoshopped image of himself sitting on his lonesome at an event surrounded by a bunch of empty front row seats.
Although the show has not happened yet, 50 acted as if he was there when he captioned the image, writing: ‘What a show, I mean just fucking great. Do it again. my kid went to the restroom. LOL.
‘ Fiddy clearly thinks he is hilarious and so do his fans – just take a look at the comment section on the Instagram post.
One user commented: ‘Everyone talking about 50 is petty for this. This is deeper than rap. When I grow up I wanna be like 50.’
‘Fuck beefing with 50, he’s on a whole other level,’ another added.
A third said: ‘This is so funny, nobody can top this off!’
The rivals reignited their age-old feud earlier this year and the internet had a field day.
Back in January, you may have hopped up onto Twitter and wondered if it was the Noughties again when the rival rappers both became trending topics at the same time.
We had to check what year it was, or if we were in an episode of Black Mirror and time-travelled in our sleep – but alas, it was indeed real life and the old-timers are still very much at it after 15-years of squabbling.
For those born after 1997 – or those way too busy paying attention to Girls Aloud or Busted to notice – the rap beef was born in the early 00s. Ironically, neither of them can agree to what caused the bad blood.
According to Rolling Stone, 50 Cent, real name Curtis Jackson, says that Ja Rule, aka Jeffrey Atkins, incorrectly accused him of stealing his jewellery and brought it to the attention of Irv Gotti, the founder of Murder Inc. Records.
Ja Rule, however, says the tension started between them during a video shoot in their hometown of Queens, NYC.
Fiddy allegedly felt disrespected by the way Ja Rule greeted him on the shoot, which led to him releasing multiple diss records aimed at Ja Rule and the rest was history.
The beef heated up again in 2018 when actor O’Shea Jackson Jr, also known as Ice Cube’s son, mentioned Ja Rule’s name in an interview sitting next to 50.
The 42-year old said he would ‘knock out’ Ja Rule out leading to Ja, who was probably still sore from the Fyre Festival controversy, to respond on Twitter in dozens of tweets – although we think MSN or Myspace would’ve suited the running theme of such a vintage argument.
‘Fun hip hop FACT: @50cent is PUSSY,’ he wrote, adding a series of messages speculating about 50 Cent’s sexual preferences.
‘What’s funny is @50cent [lets] women and MEN play with his butthole… that’s kinda funny,’ he wrote, adding ‘@50cent keeps my name in his mouth… I think he’d rather have my dick in his mouth lmao.’
When will this end? Probably never.
